Description

A delightful layered dessert that combines creamy cheesecake filling, sweet strawberries, and soft cake, perfect for gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, whipped to stiff peaks
  • 2 cups (300g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar (for sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) water
  • 1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until creamy. Gently fold in the whipped heavy cream. Set aside.
  2. Make the Strawberry Sauce: In a saucepan, mix sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the strawberries break down and the sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. Assemble the Trifle: Layer half of the cubed cake at the bottom of a trifle dish. Spoon half of the cheesecake filling over the cake layer and spread evenly. Top with half of the cooled strawberry sauce.
  4. Repeat the Layers: Add another layer of the remaining cake cubes, cheesecake filling, and strawberry sauce.
  5. Garnish and Chill: Top with sliced strawberries and dollops of whipped cream. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Scoop portions into individual bowls and enjoy the layers!

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. You can make the cheesecake filling a day ahead and assemble it the next day.
