  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into 8 slices
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together milk, cream, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  2. Place the bread slices in a dish and pour the custard over them. Cover and refrigerate overnight to let the flavors meld.
  3. In the morning, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in a pan over medium heat, then stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, maple syrup, and chopped pecans.
  4. Spread the pecan mixture evenly in a baking dish. Arrange the soaked bread slices on top. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Allow the French toast to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm for the best experience!
