Description

A fun and delicious dessert that combines chocolate cake, creamy pudding, and crunchy Oreos. Perfect for parties or a sweet treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 12.8 oz hot fudge
  • 3.4 oz chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 30 Oreos, crushed
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cake: Follow the directions on the chocolate cake mix box and bake the cake in a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cool and Poke: Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Using the back of a spoon, poke holes all over the cake.
  3. Add Hot Fudge: Warm the hot fudge in the microwave until it is pourable. Pour the hot fudge evenly over the cake, letting it seep into the holes. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  4. Mix Pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until combined. Before the pudding sets fully, pour it evenly over the cooled cake.
  5. Chill: Place the cake in the refrigerator and let it chill for about 20 minutes.
  6. Mix Topping Pudding: In a medium bowl, mix the second package of chocolate pudding mix with milk. Refrigerate until it begins to set, about 10 minutes.
  7. Add Cool Whip: Fold the thawed Cool Whip into the pudding mixture until smooth and combined.
  8. Add Oreos: Stir in about 3/4 of the crushed Oreos into the pudding mixture. Spread this mixture evenly over the cake.
  9. Finish with Oreos: Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreos on top of the cake.
  10. Refrigerate or Serve: You can serve the cake immediately or refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, let the cake cool completely before adding layers. You can bake the cake a day in advance.
