Description

A delightful dessert that combines rich cream cheese with the beloved taste of Oreo cookies, featuring a crunchy Oreo crust and creamy filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (about 2025 cookies)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 packages (32 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 1012 cookies)
  • Crushed Oreo cookies for garnish
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). In a bowl, mix the 2 cups of crushed Oreos with the melted butter until fully combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan to form an even crust layer. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then set it aside to cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the sugar and continue beating until fully mixed. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. Fold in the sour cream and the 1 cup of crushed Oreo cookies, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  3. Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled Oreo crust. Prepare a water bath by placing the springform pan into a larger roasting pan. Fill the roasting pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the springform pan. Bake the cheesecake for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is just set. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside with the door slightly open for 1 hour to cool gradually.
  4. Once the cheesecake has cooled to room temperature, refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or overnight to set completely. Before serving, garnish the cheesecake with extra crushed Oreo cookies and a generous dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for a smooth filling. Avoid overmixing to prevent a tough texture.
