Description

A rich chocolate cake layered with creamy strawberry goodness, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 150g butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 150g sugar
  • 100g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200ml strawberry cream
  • 100g fresh strawberries
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl over low heat, then let it cool slightly.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until pale and fluffy. Slowly mix in the cooled chocolate mixture.
  4. Gently fold in the flour and baking powder until just combined. Pour the batter into the greased tin.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, spread the strawberry cream between the layers of the cake.
  7. Top the cake with fresh strawberries and dust with powdered sugar for decoration.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for about 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Store any leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
