A decadent dessert featuring layers of rich chocolate, whipped cream, and juicy cherries, perfect for special occasions or a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup Kirsch (cherry liqueur)
- 8 oz dark chocolate
- 2 cups cherries (fresh or canned)
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your molds by greasing and flouring them.
- Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and milk, mixing well.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir until smooth.
- Divide the batter into prepared molds and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cakes cool, whip the cream with sugar and add Kirsch.
- Slice the cooled cakes into four horizontal layers.
- Place a layer of whipped cream and cherries between each cake layer, repeating until all layers are stacked.
- Cover the cake with remaining cream and decorate with chocolate shavings and cherries.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace Kirsch with cherry juice. Ensure heavy cream is cold for easier whipping.
