Description

A decadent dessert featuring layers of rich chocolate, whipped cream, and juicy cherries, perfect for special occasions or a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup Kirsch (cherry liqueur)
  • 8 oz dark chocolate
  • 2 cups cherries (fresh or canned)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your molds by greasing and flouring them.
  2. Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and milk, mixing well.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir until smooth.
  5. Divide the batter into prepared molds and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cakes cool, whip the cream with sugar and add Kirsch.
  7. Slice the cooled cakes into four horizontal layers.
  8. Place a layer of whipped cream and cherries between each cake layer, repeating until all layers are stacked.
  9. Cover the cake with remaining cream and decorate with chocolate shavings and cherries.
  10. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace Kirsch with cherry juice. Ensure heavy cream is cold for easier whipping.
