Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 24 tablespoons heavy cream
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Ensure your butter is at room temperature.
  2. Beat the softened butter on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar to the butter, one cup at a time, beating on low speed until fully incorporated.
  4. Add the vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream, beating on medium speed until smooth.
  5. Adjust the consistency with more cream if too thick, or more powdered sugar if too thin, and continue beating until fluffy.
  6. Optionally, add a pinch of salt to balance sweetness.

Notes

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Re-whip before using.
