Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • White chocolate hearts for decoration
  • Chocolate shavings for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Melt dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler, stirring until smooth, then let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until combined, then add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in flour and salt until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into greased small round molds and bake for 12-15 minutes. Let them cool.
  6. Heat heavy cream and pour it over the remaining dark chocolate to make a ganache, stirring until smooth.
  7. Dip the cooled cakes in the ganache and roll them in chocolate shavings.
  8. Top each cake with a white chocolate heart.
  9. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
