Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Frosting of your choice
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  5. Fill the prepared cupcake liners about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely before frosting with your favorite frosting and adding sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Ensure that your butter is softened to room temperature for easier mixing. Don’t overmix the batter; mix until just combined to keep the cupcakes light and fluffy.
