- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls or sub buns
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Chopped parsley or chives (for garnish)
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp prepared horseradish (optional for kick)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for sauce)
- Salt and pepper (for sauce)
Instructions
- Make Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together all White BBQ Sauce ingredients. Chill until ready to use.
- Sauté Onions: In a skillet, cook sliced onions in olive oil over medium heat until golden and soft. Set aside.
- Cook Chicken: Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Grill or sauté in the same skillet until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Assemble Subs: Layer chicken and onions into hoagie rolls. Top with provolone slices.
- Melt Cheese: Place subs under the broiler for 2–3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Serve: Drizzle with white BBQ sauce or serve it on the side. Garnish with fresh herbs and enjoy warm!
