Ingredients

  • 300g butter, softened
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 300g self-raising flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 600g fondant icing
  • Pink food coloring
  • 300g buttercream
  • Edible butterfly and flower decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease two round cake tins.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and caster sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gently fold in the self-raising flour and vanilla extract.
  3. Divide the batter between the prepared cake tins and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely.
  4. Once the cakes are cool, stack them together with a layer of buttercream in between. Cover the entire cake with a thin layer of fondant icing.
  5. Color the remaining fondant icing pink and shape it into butterflies and flowers to decorate the cake.
  6. Let the cake set for 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a unique twist, consider adding your favorite flavors to the buttercream or using different colors of fondant for decoration.
