Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • Food coloring (red or pink)
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and butter. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add vanilla extract and peppermint extract (if using), then mix well.
  3. Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into separate portions if using multiple colors.
  5. Add a few drops of food coloring to each portion and knead until evenly distributed.
  6. Roll into small balls or shape into hearts.
  7. Flatten slightly with a fork or shape as desired.
  8. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and allow to air dry for 2-3 hours, flipping once halfway through.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for a firmer texture.
