- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- Food coloring (red or pink)
- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and butter. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Add vanilla extract and peppermint extract (if using), then mix well.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough into separate portions if using multiple colors.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to each portion and knead until evenly distributed.
- Roll into small balls or shape into hearts.
- Flatten slightly with a fork or shape as desired.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and allow to air dry for 2-3 hours, flipping once halfway through.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for a firmer texture.
