- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot coffee
- 1 ½ cups chocolate frosting
- ½ cup chocolate crumbs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 8-inch cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add in the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
- Pour in the hot coffee and mix until the batter is smooth. Divide the batter evenly into the cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely.
- Once cooled, stack the layers with chocolate frosting between them. Frost the outside of the cake.
- Sprinkle chocolate crumbs on top. Serve and enjoy!
