A rich and delicious layered chocolate cake with creamy filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 200g dark chocolate
- 150g unsalted butter
- 200g caster sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 200g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 300ml double cream
- 100g white chocolate (for cream filling)
- Fresh strawberries and blackberries
- Chocolate chunks for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease three cake tins.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl, then mix in the caster sugar and eggs.
- Fold in the plain flour and baking powder until smooth. Divide the batter evenly into the three tins.
- Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
- While the cakes cool, whip the double cream and mix it with the melted white chocolate for the filling.
- Layer the cooled cakes with the creamy filling, stacking them on top of each other.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over the top, add chocolate chunks, and decorate with fresh strawberries and blackberries.
Notes
Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or freeze slices for longer preservation.
