- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water)

- 2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients with the buttermilk and hot coffee until well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Let the cakes cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the softened butter until creamy. Slowly add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well.
- Pour in the heavy cream and vanilla, beating until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
- Spread frosting between the layers of the cake and cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
- Decorate as desired and enjoy!
