A decadent dessert featuring three rich layers of dark, milk, and white chocolate mousse, perfect for any chocolate lover.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup milk chocolate, melted
  • 1 cup white chocolate, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, whipped
  • 1 tsp gelatin dissolved in 2 tbsp warm water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add in the oil, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and hot water, mixing until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean when inserted in the center.
  5. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  6. For the mousse layers, melt the dark chocolate and allow it to cool slightly.
  7. Dissolve the gelatin in warm water and mix it into the melted dark chocolate.
  8. Gently fold in half of the whipped cream until smooth.
  9. Place the cooled cake base in the springform pan and spread the dark chocolate mousse evenly over the cake.
  10. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to set.
  11. Repeat the melting and folding process with milk chocolate and white chocolate mousses, refrigerating each layer for 20 minutes before adding the next.
  12. Once all layers are set, refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  13. Carefully remove from the springform pan, slice, and enjoy your layers of chocolate perfection!

Notes
