Description

A rich and decadent cake combining dark, milk, and white chocolate layered with airy mousse for an indulgent dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 6 oz dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa), chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 oz milk chocolate, chopped
  • 6 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • For Garnishing: Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder, Fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  4. <li gradually add the boiling water while stirring. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.

  5. Once baked, let the cake cool completely.
  6. For the dark chocolate mousse, melt the dark chocolate. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream and refrigerate.
  7. Repeat the same process to make the milk chocolate mousse and then the white chocolate mousse.
  8. To assemble the cake, slice it in half. Spread the dark chocolate mousse on the bottom layer, place the second layer on top, spread milk chocolate mousse, and finally top with white chocolate mousse.
  9. Refrigerate the entire cake for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  10. Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder and fresh berries. Slice and enjoy!

Use high-quality chocolate for a richer flavor. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for the best results.
