Description

A decadent dessert layering dark, milk, and white chocolate mousse on a light cake base, perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the Dark Chocolate Mousse: 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate (melted)
  • 1 tsp gelatin + 2 tbsp warm water (optional)
  • For the Milk Chocolate Mousse: 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped)
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate (melted)
  • 1 tsp gelatin + 2 tbsp warm water (optional)
  • For the White Chocolate Mousse: 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate (melted)
  • 1 tsp gelatin + 2 tbsp warm water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, stirring until smooth. Pour the batter into a round pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let it cool completely.
  2. If using gelatin, dissolve it in warm water. Mix the melted dark chocolate with the whipped cream until well combined. Spread this over the cooled cake and chill for 20 minutes.
  3. Repeat the process with the milk chocolate, spreading it over the dark chocolate layer and chilling again for 20 minutes.
  4. Prepare the white chocolate mousse and spread it as the final layer on top. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours.
  5. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder, add chocolate shavings, or drizzle with chocolate ganache. Serve chilled with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. High-quality chocolate enhances flavor. Skip gelatin if short on time, but it provides a firmer texture.
