- 1 tsp gelatin + 2 tbsp warm water (optional)
- For the Milk Chocolate Mousse: 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped)
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate (melted)
- 1 tsp gelatin + 2 tbsp warm water (optional)
- For the White Chocolate Mousse: 1/2 cup heavy cream (whipped)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate (melted)
- 1 tsp gelatin + 2 tbsp warm water (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, stirring until smooth. Pour the batter into a round pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let it cool completely.
- If using gelatin, dissolve it in warm water. Mix the melted dark chocolate with the whipped cream until well combined. Spread this over the cooled cake and chill for 20 minutes.
- Repeat the process with the milk chocolate, spreading it over the dark chocolate layer and chilling again for 20 minutes.
- Prepare the white chocolate mousse and spread it as the final layer on top. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder, add chocolate shavings, or drizzle with chocolate ganache. Serve chilled with fresh berries or a dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter. High-quality chocolate enhances flavor. Skip gelatin if short on time, but it provides a firmer texture.
