Description

A delicious twist on classic brownies and tiramisu, layered with coffee flavors and creamy mascarpone.


Ingredients

  • 1 box (18.25 oz) brownie mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (e.g., Kahlua)
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  4. In another bowl, combine the cooled brewed espresso and coffee liqueur, stirring well.
  5. Pour half of the espresso mixture over the brownie batter, ensuring it’s evenly spread.
  6. Blend the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, then spread this mixture over the espresso layer.
  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the mascarpone layer.
  8. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and drizzle the rest of the espresso mixture over it.
  9. Swirl the layers together using a knife or toothpick.
  10. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until mostly clean when a toothpick is inserted.
  11. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing.
  12. Dust the top with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pair with vanilla ice cream for added delight.
