Description
A delicious and satisfying noodle bowl with savory teriyaki ground beef, vegetables, and noodles.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz noodles (ramen, lo mein, or spaghetti)
- 1 1⁄2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water (for cornstarch slurry)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it’s browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the beef. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, and water. Bring to a simmer.
- Mix cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to make a slurry. Add this to the beef mixture. Stir until it thickens, about 1–2 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a pot, boil noodles according to the package instructions. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add broccoli and carrots. Drain everything together.
- Toss the noodles and veggies into the beef mixture. Mix well to coat everything in the sauce.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the ground beef in soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. This dish can also be made with ground chicken or turkey for a leaner option.
