Description

A delicious pastry that combines a rich, buttery dough with a creamy mascarpone filling, bringing a taste of the French Riviera to your kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 350 g flour
  • 1/2 pack dry yeast
  • 50 ml milk
  • 100 g soft butter
  • 3 eggs (size M)
  • 40 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 orange
  • 150 ml water
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 sheets gelatin
  • 600 ml milk
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 6 egg yolks (size M)
  • 150 g sugar
  • 500 g mascarpone
  • 1 egg (size M) for brushing
  • 2 tbsp sugar crystals

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and sugar. Add the milk, eggs, butter, and salt. Knead the mixture for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth. Cover the bowl and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes, or you can leave it in the fridge overnight.
  2. Grease a springform pan (26 cm diameter). Knead the dough lightly, shape it into a ball, and roll it out to fit the pan. Let it rise again for 60 minutes in the pan.
  3. Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Beat an egg in a small bowl and brush the risen dough with it. Sprinkle sugar crystals on top. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until it turns golden. Let it cool completely.
  4. For the syrup, wash and dry the orange, then zest it. In a small pot, combine the orange zest with the water, sugar, and vanilla extract. Simmer this mixture for about 10 minutes to make a syrup. Afterward, remove the pot from heat and let it sit.
  5. Once your tart has cooled, slice it into pieces and drizzle the orange syrup over each serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Knead well and don’t skip the rising time for a light and fluffy crust.
