Description
A delightful dessert that combines the creaminess of cheesecake with the freshness of strawberries, all wrapped in a soft roll.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk (110 °F/45 °C)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup minced fresh strawberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter (to brush)
- 1/4 cup cream (for final drizzle)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm milk and sugar. Let it stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and softened butter. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and vanilla extract to form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let sit for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- For the filling, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Roll out the dough into a 12×8 inch rectangle. Spread the cheesecake filling on the dough, add minced strawberries, and sprinkle sugar on top.
- Roll the dough from both lengths to form 8 slices. Place in a greased 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Brush the top with melted butter, let sit for 20 minutes, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle cream over the hot rolls for the final touch.
