Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3⁄4 cup warm milk (110 °F/45 °C)
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup softened butter
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 1⁄4 cup powdered sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1⁄2 cup minced fresh strawberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1⁄4 cup melted butter (for brushing)
- 1⁄4 cup cream (for final drizzle)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix yeast with warm milk and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and softened butter. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well to form a smooth dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until soft. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let stand for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Roll the dough into a 12×8 inch rectangle. Spread the cream cheese filling, sprinkle minced strawberries and sugar on top.
- Starting from the long side, roll the dough into a log. Cut into 8 even slices and place in a greased 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Brush the tops with melted butter. Let stand for 20 minutes, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Drizzle cream over hot rolls for added sweetness.
Notes
Ensure your yeast is active and don’t skip the resting time for the dough for best texture.
