Description

An elegant Swan Cake that combines fluffy layers and creamy frosting, perfect for impressing guests at special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs (about 200g)
  • 10g baking powder
  • 5g vanilla extract
  • 100g milk
  • 250g unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 500g powdered sugar
  • 50g heavy cream
  • 5g vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 200g fondant (for shaping swans)
  • Food coloring (pink and red)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease two 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Sift the flour and baking powder together, then add it to the mixture gradually, alternating with the milk.
  6. Divide the batter between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool completely.
  8. For the frosting, beat the butter until creamy.
  9. Slowly add the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla, whipping until smooth and fluffy.
  10. Spread the frosting evenly on the cooled cakes.
  11. Use food coloring to tint the fondant.
  12. Shape the fondant into swans and create petal-like designs.
  13. Attach these to the sides of the cake.

Notes

Make sure your butter is at room temperature for easy creaming. Don’t skip cooling the cakes completely before frosting; it helps set the frosting better. Work quickly with fondant as it can dry out.
