A rich and decadent chocolate cake topped with a smooth, shiny chocolate ganache, perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 stick Nescafe (2 grams coffee)
- 1 cup hot water (very hot)
- 200 grams dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease or line two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Sift together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt) in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients (milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla).
- Gradually mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Dissolve the Nescafe in hot water and mix it into the batter until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool before transferring them to a wire rack.
- For the ganache, heat cream in a saucepan until it simmers.
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate, let sit, and then stir until smooth.
- Mix in butter until fully incorporated. Pour the ganache over the cooled cake.
Notes
Store any leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
