Ingredients

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 100g dark or milk chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 200g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water or in the microwave. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar and eggs, and whisk until creamy.
  4. Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture to the sugar and egg mixture, and mix until blended.
  5. Gradually add the milk and mix until combined.
  6. Sift the flour and cocoa powder together in another bowl.
  7. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
