Description

A warm and hearty one-pan meal that combines the flavors of traditional stuffed cabbage rolls, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 3.5 pounds chopped cabbage (about 1 medium head)
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella (or cheese of choice)
  • 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage, and cook until slightly wilted.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and the beef and cabbage mixture. Mix well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a large baking dish and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add spices like oregano or Italian seasoning to the meat mixture. Use any cheese you prefer instead of mozzarella.
