A delicious and moist dessert that combines three types of milk with fresh strawberries, creating a refreshing treat perfect for any occasion.

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 large eggs, separated
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup strawberry puree (blend fresh strawberries)
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh strawberries, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks with 3/4 cup of sugar until pale and fluffy. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the flour mixture until just combined.
- In another bowl, beat egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add the remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Carefully fold the egg whites into the batter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and strawberry puree.
- Poke holes in the cooled cake and slowly pour the tres leches mixture over it. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the chilled cake and garnish with fresh strawberry slices. Slice and serve.
Notes
Use ripe, fresh strawberries for the best flavor. Make sure the cake is completely cool before adding the milk mixture. For more intense strawberry flavor, add more puree.
