Description

A refreshing homemade ice cream with fresh strawberries that is easy to make and perfect for summer.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice; let sit for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, 3/4 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the strawberry mixture to the ice cream base and mix well until combined.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Transfer the churned ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  7. Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. You can also add toppings like whipped cream or chocolate syrup.
