- 1 package (17.3 oz) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh strawberries, sliced
- 4 oz dark chocolate, melted (for drizzling)
- 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water (egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry and cut out heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- Place the heart shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the top of each heart with the egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Allow the puff pastry hearts to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- To assemble, spread a layer of whipped cream on one puff pastry heart, add sliced strawberries on top, and then place another puff pastry heart on top.
- Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the top and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Best consumed fresh.
