Description
A delightful strawberry cream cheese frosting that adds flavor to cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/4 cup strawberry puree (fresh or frozen and thawed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the strawberry puree and vanilla extract, beating until fully combined.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, while mixing on low speed. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to make sure everything is well mixed.
- Once all the powdered sugar is added, increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat for 2-3 minutes until the frosting is fluffy and light.
- Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness and mix until combined.
- Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies. Store any leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Notes
For best results, ensure butter and cream cheese are softened. Sift powdered sugar to avoid lumps.
