Description

A delicious dessert that combines layers of creamy cheesecake, fresh strawberries, and soft cake, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, whipped to stiff peaks
  • 2 cups (300g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar (for the sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) water
  • 1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue beating until creamy. Fold in the whipped heavy cream until incorporated.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat until strawberries break down and sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Layer half of the cubed cake in a trifle dish. Spoon half of the cheesecake filling over and top with half of the strawberry sauce.
  4. Repeat layers with the remaining cake, cheesecake filling, and strawberry sauce.
  5. Garnish with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours or overnight.
  6. Serve chilled by scooping into bowls or glasses.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing. Fresh strawberries give the best flavor.
