Description

A delightful dessert that layers creamy cheesecake filling with fresh strawberries and soft cake, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz (450g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, whipped to stiff peaks
  • 2 cups (300g) fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar (for strawberry sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) water
  • 1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake, cut into cubes
  • Fresh strawberries, sliced (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue beating until well combined. Gently fold in the whipped heavy cream until evenly incorporated. Set aside.
  2. Make the Strawberry Sauce: In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. Assemble the Trifle: Layer half the cubed cake in a trifle dish. Spoon half of the cheesecake filling over the cake layer and top with half of the strawberry sauce.
  4. Repeat the Layers: Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  5. Garnish and Chill: Garnish with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Cover and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight.
  6. Serve: Scoop into bowls or glasses and enjoy!

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for a smoother filling. Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks for a light and fluffy texture. Consider using a mix of berries for variety. Allow the trifle to chill overnight for the best flavor.
