- 42 oz strawberry pie filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 15.25 oz white cake mix
- 1 cup salted butter, cold
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry filling, then spread it out as evenly as possible.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry white cake mix over the cream cheese layer, covering it completely.
- Slice the cold butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly over the dry cake mix.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the strawberry filling is bubbling around the edges.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
Best served warm or at room temperature. Add whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra flavor. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
