Description

A delicious strawberry cake perfect for large gatherings, full of flavor and easy to make.


Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • 600 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essence
  • 400 ml whole milk
  • 400 ml vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 900 g whole wheat flour
  • 30 g baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 35 x 45 cm cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla essence, milk, and vegetable oil (or melted butter), and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve with fresh strawberries or whipped cream for added flavor. Keep covered at room temperature for 2-3 days, or in the fridge for up to a week.
