Ingredients

  • 200 g soft butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs (size M)
  • 150 g applesauce
  • 370 g wheat flour (type 405)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • A little butter for the pan
  • 1 tbsp flour for the pan
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (or 160 degrees for fan ovens). Grease a bundt pan (22 cm diameter) and coat with flour.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the soft butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, continuing to beat at high speed.
  4. Stir in the applesauce. Mix the flour and baking powder together, then incorporate into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake the cake in the lower third of the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, then perform a skewer test to check doneness.
  7. Let the cake cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before removing from the pan.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delicious treat.
