Ingredients

- 2 ribeye steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
- Butter (optional)
Instructions
- Take the steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add steaks to the skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness.
- Add minced garlic and thyme during the last minute of cooking.
- Optionally, add a tablespoon of butter to the skillet and baste the steaks.
- Remove steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Allow steaks to rest after cooking for juiciness. Use a meat thermometer for doneness.
