Ingredients

  • Fresh tomatoes

  • Jowl bacon
  • Red potatoes
  • Ground meat (for meatloaf)
  • Cornmeal (for cornbread)
  • Butter
  • Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground meat, chopped onion, salt, pepper, and an egg. Shape into a loaf and place in a baking dish. Bake for about 1 hour.
  3. While the meatloaf is baking, boil red potatoes until tender. Drain, mash with butter, milk, and salt.
  4. Cook green beans in a pan with jowl bacon until tender.
  5. Make cornbread by mixing cornmeal with milk, egg, and melted butter. Pour into a skillet and bake until golden brown.
  6. Serve the meatloaf with red mashed potatoes, green beans, fresh tomatoes, and fried cornbread.
