Description

A delightful dessert combining rich flavors and crunchy peanuts, inspired by the classic Snickers bar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 and 3/4 cups salted roasted peanuts, divided
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons ice water
  • Homemade salted caramel
  • 1 cup salted roasted peanuts, chopped
  • 6 ounces milk or semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • Chopped Snickers bar (optional)
  • Crushed peanuts (optional)
  • Extra caramel for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
  2. In a food processor, pulse 3/4 cup of peanuts, flour, brown sugar, and salt until it resembles coarse meal.
  3. Add the cold butter and pulse until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
  4. Transfer to a bowl, stir in ice water until the dough comes together, and press into a 9-inch tart pan.
  5. Line the crust with foil or parchment, add pie weights, and bake for 18-20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.
  6. Mix salted caramel and 1 cup of peanuts. Pour into cooled crust.
  7. Melt chocolate and peanut butter, then spread over the caramel nut filling.
  8. Chill tart in refrigerator for 2-3 hours or until set. Garnish if desired.

Notes

Store the tart in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Use cold butter for the crust for the best texture.
