Description

A hearty and comforting dish that combines smoked sausage, tender cabbage, and satisfying egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 small head cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup frozen green peas (thawed)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt & cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook egg noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, sauté sausage slices until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onion until soft. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add cabbage and cook until wilted and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
  5. Return sausage to the pan, stir in noodles and peas. Season with salt and generous black pepper.
  6. Toss everything together and heat through. Serve warm.

Notes

This dish can be served warm on its own or with a slice of crusty bread. Fresh herbs can be added for extra flavor.
