Description

A simple and delicious slow cooker dish featuring tender cabbage in a buttery sauce, perfect as a side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium green cabbage, cut into wedges
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Salt & cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup water or vegetable broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Add the chopped onion and water or broth to the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. Place the cabbage wedges on top and drizzle them with the melted butter.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or on high for 2.5–3 hours, until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Top with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté the onions before adding. Adjust butter to taste or substitute with olive oil for a lighter option.
