A fun and tasty twist on Sloppy Joes and grilled cheese, this sandwich combines savory ground beef with gooey cheese for a delightful meal.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 slices of sandwich bread
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or slices)
- 4 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and onions until browned. Drain excess fat. Add ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
- Butter one side of each bread slice. On the unbuttered side, layer sloppy joe mixture and cheese, topping with another slice, buttered side out.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook each sandwich until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Slice, stack, and enjoy warm with extra napkins!
Notes
Use fresh ground beef for the best flavor. Consider adding bell peppers or jalapeños for a fun twist.
