Simple Italian Cake with 12 Tablespoons

A delightful Italian cake made with simple ingredients, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 12 tablespoons of sugar
  • 12 tablespoons of oil
  • 12 tablespoons of milk
  • 12 tablespoons of flour
  • Zest and juice of half a lemon
  • 11g baking powder
  • 20cm cake pan (for baking)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, crack open 3 eggs.
  3. Add 12 tablespoons of sugar to the eggs and mix until creamy.
  4. Pour in 12 tablespoons of oil and mix well.
  5. Add 12 tablespoons of milk and continue mixing.
  6. Sift in 12 tablespoons of flour gradually while stirring to avoid lumps.
  7. Zest and juice half a lemon and add to the batter.
  8. Mix in 11g of baking powder thoroughly.
  9. Grease a 20cm cake pan and pour in the batter.
  10. Bake for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let it cool, then slice and serve.

Notes

Optionally dust the cake with powdered sugar or add a lemon glaze. For added texture, consider adding chocolate chips or nuts.
