Description

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these cheesy potato puffs are a delightful snack or side dish perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil (for the baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Boil the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes well and mash them in a large bowl. Let them cool slightly.
  3. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, flour, egg, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes and mix until well combined.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, spread the potato mixture into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  5. Cut the rectangle into small squares or cubes with a knife.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Grease a baking sheet with melted butter or oil.
  8. Place the potato squares on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve warm with dipping sauces like ketchup, ranch, or barbecue sauce. They can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
