Description

Delightful snack or side dish with crispy outside and soft cheesy inside, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil (for greasing the baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Boil the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Drain the potatoes well and mash them in a large bowl. Let cool slightly.
  3. Add shredded cheddar cheese, flour, egg, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix until well combined.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, spread the potato mixture into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
  5. Cut the rectangle into small squares or cubes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Grease a baking sheet with melted butter or oil.
  8. Place the potato squares on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and crispy.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve with ketchup, sour cream, or your favorite dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
