- 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil (for greasing the baking sheet)
Instructions
- Boil the cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes well and mash them in a large bowl. Let cool slightly.
- Add shredded cheddar cheese, flour, egg, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Mix until well combined.
- On a lightly floured surface, spread the potato mixture into a rectangle about 1 inch thick.
- Cut the rectangle into small squares or cubes.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Grease a baking sheet with melted butter or oil.
- Place the potato squares on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot.
Notes
Serve with ketchup, sour cream, or your favorite dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
