Description
A delicious one-skillet meal featuring tender steak, fluffy rice, and a sweet and savory honey garlic butter sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (cut into strips)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup rice (uncooked)
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak strips with salt and pepper and sear them for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
- Lower the heat to medium, add the butter to the skillet, and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Whisk in the honey, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard, allowing the sauce to simmer for a minute.
- Stir in the uncooked rice, ensuring it is coated in the sauce. Then, add the beef broth and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes.
- Return the steak to the skillet, stirring everything together and warming it through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Use a tender cut of steak, such as sirloin or ribeye, for the best flavor and texture. Adjust the sweetness with honey and saltiness with soy sauce according to preference.
