Description

A hearty dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties simmered in a rich onion gravy, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil or butter (for searing)
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Form into 4 oval patties.
  2. Heat the oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onions until soft. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until the gravy thickens.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer in the gravy for 10–12 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the patties sit for a few minutes after forming. Adjust the thickness of the gravy by adding more or less beef broth.
