Description
A hearty dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties simmered in a rich onion gravy, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp oil or butter (for searing)
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Form into 4 oval patties.
- Heat the oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onions until soft. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until the gravy thickens.
- Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer in the gravy for 10–12 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
For extra flavor, let the patties sit for a few minutes after forming. Adjust the thickness of the gravy by adding more or less beef broth.
