Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and the egg. Form the mixture into 4 oval-shaped patties.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add chopped onions and sliced mushrooms, and sauté until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Slowly whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Return the patties to the skillet and let simmer for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Notes

Tip: Use fresh mushrooms for better flavor. Adjust seasonings to taste.
