Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and the egg. Form the mixture into 4 oval-shaped patties.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add chopped onions and sliced mushrooms, and sauté until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Return the patties to the skillet and let simmer for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
Notes
Tip: Use fresh mushrooms for better flavor. Adjust seasonings to taste.
