- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into 4 oval patties.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the patties for about 3–4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the onions and mushrooms, sauté until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well. Slowly pour in beef broth and add Worcestershire sauce, stirring until thickened.
- Return the patties to the skillet. Cover and let them simmer in the gravy for about 10–15 minutes until fully cooked.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme to the gravy. Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
