Description

A comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef patties and a rich, flavorful onion mushroom gravy.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into 4 oval patties.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the patties for about 3–4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the onions and mushrooms, sauté until tender.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir well. Slowly pour in beef broth and add Worcestershire sauce, stirring until thickened.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet. Cover and let them simmer in the gravy for about 10–15 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, add herbs like thyme to the gravy. Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
