Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1.5 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (240ml) boiling water
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

- Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Stir in the boiling water (the batter will be thin). Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

- Once the cakes are cool, place one layer on a serving plate, spread the cream filling on top, and then place the second layer on top.
- Decorate with chocolate decorations as desired.
Notes
Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Use good quality cocoa powder for a richer flavor. Decorate with chocolate shavings, sprinkles or fresh fruit for a beautiful touch.
